Babies and toddlers enjoyed a magical day where they played and drew pictures with the tooth fairy and danced along with loveable Lollos.
The Baby and Toddler Expo was hosted at Hoërskool Pietersburg on Saturday where parents and their little ones could explore a wide variety of products and services especially tailored to suit their needs.
There were adorable outfits, ways to stimulate a child’s mind, and toys designed to keep toddlers occupied for hours. Various institutions and organisations that work with children also displayed their wares and programmes at the expo.
At 12:00 the visitors streamed into the school hall where Lollos, the much loved alien, entertained old and young alike.
The children danced, sang, twirled, kicked and jumped with Lollos and his sister Lettie while their parents kept a close eye on them. The two aliens and their helpers, Blommemeisie and Disco, sang and danced their way around the world on a treasure hunt for Lettie’s birthday present.
The Dental Studio made use of this opportunity to educate toddlers and young children about good oral hygiene habits through a variety of arts and craft activities. The tooth fairy, Lizani Bester, also visited the exhibition and spent time with the children.
Oral hygienists and dentists were also on hand to help parents with the necessary information about their children’s teeth, dietary adjustments for healthier mouths, and general oral health care. They handed out useful and informative pamphlets and had innovative equipment created to make oral health care easier, for sale.
The Dental Studio tooth fairy’s helpers also handed out toothbrushes, toothpaste, and healthy crunchy apples.
The proceeds of the day was donated to the South African Women’s Federation (SAVF), a cause that lies close to the hearts of The Dental Studio’s personnel and the Baby and Toddler Expo founder and organiser, Jacqueline Shrives of Pienkvoet-Pret Polokwane.
