The 34th Silicon Smelter/Round Table 22 Charity Golf Day started on a high note on Friday evening when beneficiaries received donations of almost R200 000.
Silicon Smelters Company Secretary Jan Aucamp announced that R152 000 was raised during this year’s golf day and golfers had a chance of winning prizes worth more than R50 000.
“Besides the annual golf day we also host an annual fishing competition and 4×4 challenge as fundraisers. I am proud to announce that we have collected R135 000 and R113 000 during the fishing and 4×4 competitions respectively. This means that Silicon Smelters has raised almost half a million Rand for the year,” Chief Executive Officer, Nellis Bester said.
