Suspended Head of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) in Limpopo Dibero Molatjana was found guilty on charges of fraud by the South African Police Service (Saps) Disciplinary Committee yesterday (Wednesday).
This follows her suspension in May pending investigations into various allegations.
Hawks Spokesperson Hangwani Mulaudzi confirmed that the committee found Molatjana guilty of being an accomplice to fraud for requesting her secretary to register her sister as a dependent on a medical aid scheme. “She was also found guilty of instructing her subordinates to use state-owned vehicles to transport her son on several occasions from Polokwane to Pretoria where he was studying,” Mulaudzi said.
Molatjana will know her fate next Wednesday when judgement will be handed down. The National Head of the Hawks Berning Ntlemeza welcomed the verdict and warned other members that they will be faced with the same fate if they involve themselves in corrupt activities.
