Local businessman Rameez Patel, accused of allegedly killing his wife, Fatima on 10 April at their house in Nirvana, will appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court again today (Thursday) to continue with his bail application.
The session, which started later than scheduled yesterday (Wednesday) was used by Patel’s attorney Tumi Mokwena to cross examine investigating officer David Nkuna. The cross examining is expected to continue today (Thursday).
Patel was arrested on 16 April and has been in custody since. State prosecutor Mark von Dronik, during the accused’s previous court appearances, called three witnesses, Nkuna, as well as Community Policing Forum (CPF) member Tobias Botha and pathologist Thakadu Mamasela.
