The fourth stage of the 2015 South African National Rally Championship will be hosted in Bela-Bela tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday.
For the defending champions, Castrol Team Toyota’s Leeroy Poulter and his navigator Elvéne Coetzee this event will offer a severe challenge in their campaign to retain their title.
The total stage distance for the two days is 178 km and the open sections linking the stages add up to just 55 km. This will make it easy for spectators to watch stages and visit the service park without having to travel great distances.
The Bela-Bela Motor Rally gets under way at noon with the official starting ceremony at the Bela Mall. Four stages will be run tomorrow with the rally headquarters stationed at the Forever Resort Warmbaths. There will be an overnight stop at Bela-Bela tomorrow before the rally restarts for the final six special stages on Saturday; scheduled to start at 08:00.
The Rotary Club of Warmbaths will turn the Dunlop Service Park into a Rotary International Fan Park for the weekend.
Fans will have the opportunity to view the rally cars and interact with drivers and navigators during service breaks.
Ford Performance Fiesta driver Mark Cronjé and navigator Robin Houghton will also be seen in action. With this team victorious in three events on the trot, the Toyota pair needs to win in the Waterberg to keep their championship chances alive.
