A murder inquest was opened after a 28-year-old man, Phineas Hunoto Mamabolo, allegedly hung himself after murdering his 20-year-old girlfriend, Tshipiso Moloto at the house of the man’s sister in Penina Park Friday night or early Saturday morning. Mamabolo apparently slit her throat. Moloto lived in Chebeng, Moletji.
A baby girl is all that is left of the family. She is being taken care of by the woman’s mother, Olga Moloto.
The couple allegedly left the baby with Mamabolo’s sister, Tshipiso. She told Polokwane Observer that early on Saturday morning she saw that the light outside the garage was still on and went to switch it off. She then found the body of her brother in the garage and his girlfriend’s body in the vehicle in the garage.
According to neighbours both Mamabolo’s parents died recently.
Lesiba Ramoshaba, Spokesperson of the Police called on people who have problems to rather talk to a professional person or a friend, priest, chaplain or social worker, or go to the Victim Empowerment Centre at the nearest Police station for assistance. “Somewhere there is someone who can help you, but please do not take such drastic steps.
