Honda CR-Z Hybrid – bold yet agile

When it comes to cutting costs the last thing on people’s minds is buying a new vehicle, but when you become the proud owner of a new Honda CR-Z Hybrid, the last worry would be saving on fuel.
BB Auto Honda Polokwane invites potential buyers to visit their showroom and let their professional sales executives assist and guide you through some valuable information regarding the CR-Z Hybrid.
The CR-Z Hybrid surprises from the moment you look at it, it is bold and distinctive, yet agile and swift in performance. The lines from the front to the rear are striking and a pure combination of sportiness, luxury and performance.
The interior is exclusive to Honda with some interesting features to lighten up your day. The cockpit is skilfully designed with every control positioned to offer intuitive command of the car without taking focus away from the road ahead. This includes the innovative S+ button that is conveniently positioned on the steering wheel and primes the electric motor to give an extra burst of power when needed. The S+ button helps maximise the CR-Zs sporty performance. It works by drawing on stored electrical energy which is then released when the accelerator is pressed.
The CR-Z Hybrid has three driving modes activated by the touch of a button which changes the colour of the speedometer: red for Sport, green for Normal and blue Econ. When you leave the city behind and hit the open road, the Sport mode gives you the extra power needed for a truly thrilling drive. This mode provides powerful acceleration with the help of Integrated Motor Assist (IMA), sharper throttle response and increases weight on the power steering for better handling. The IMA is Honda’s hybrid technology that combines an electric motor with a conventional petrol engine and controls how they work together.
Normal is for optimum balance between economy and agile performance and is the perfect choice for most journeys.
In heavy traffic it is often difficult to conserve fuel. The CR-Z Hybrid’s Econ mode switches the IMA system to prioritise fuel efficiency over engine performance. In Econ mode all systems including air conditioning are altered to reduce fuel consumption. Combined consumption is measured at 5,2 litre per 100 km.
The 1,5 litre four cylinder engine combined with the IMA system gives an overall power output of 101 kW and 190 Nm of torque And above all else CO2 emissions are just 124 g/km, creating a car that is not only fun to drive but also environmentally responsible. The system in combined with a precise driver-focussed six speed manual gearbox.
