Henri Eksteen, 9th Dan and founder of Eksteen Bushido Freestyle Karate do and owner of Eksteen Martial Arts was recognised for his outstanding contribution and untiring devotion to the promotion of martial arts and culture in South Africa recently.
Eksteen said this and previous awards were the result of hard work, dedication, passion and most importantly a love for the sport. “I was recently awarded a certificate of honour for the loyalty and value shown in the sport and life of people and therefore a sign of respect for the friendship and brotherhood in the world. This unique award was bestowed on me by Grand Master 10th Dan R’guiba Boumediene of the International R’guiba Doshinki Academy in Algeria,” Eksteen informed.
A second prestigious accolade was in the form of Eksteen’s appointment as the first South African karate instructor ever to serve on the International Martial Arts Masters Association’s board of directors.
It was presented by Grandmaster 10th Dan Ted Gambordella of Texas, Dallas in the United States of America.
