Capricorn High School’s (CHS) Grade 12s turned an ordinary school day into a day full of excitement to encourage learners to participate in a fundraiser for the school on Thursday.
Learners could buy refreshments and food like cupcakes, pies and boerewors rolls at a variety of stalls from the Student and Matric Board. Lively music was also played during break and inspired some learners to show off their dance moves.
Headgirl Mamaswa Modjadji explained that the fundraiser event was part of the school’s tradition, held every year and organised by the Student and Matric Board.
Some of the money raised will be used to strengthen the school’s funds and the rest will go to a charity still to be decided on. “It is wonderful to see how our learners care for our school and how they want to help people in the community. I am very proud of the learners participating in this event,” Mamaswa said.
Judging from the number of learners who queued at the boerewors roll stall this was the most popular item of the day. Learners explained that they loved to braai and that is why was so popular.
