Debtsafe Lim MTB series ends on high note


The final and decisive Limpopo School MTB league race, the ‘Tour de Lip’, was held at the Hanglip Forestry outside Louis Trichardt on Saturday.
Johan van Dijkhorst, Head of Limpopo School Cycling said the past four races were of very high quality with tracks being built and prepared by hand and school cyclists racing their hearts out. “I am very proud of each one that took on the challenge and represented their school. From the first to the last finisher, well done! To the teachers, team managers, coaches and parents that spent hours on supporting the school cyclists a very big thank you.”
While the ‘Tour de Lip’ presented a challenging route with technical parts and steep climbs that tested participants on every level, it also offered great single tracks that made for an enjoyable race.
Laerskool Pietersburg-Oos walked away with the Debtsafe Limpopo Schools Cycling MTB Primary School Winner Floating Trophy while StanfordFB_IMG_1442811402365-1-1_515x435 Lake College won the Debtsafe Limpopo High Schools MTB Cycling Series. The two schools were also the winners of the spirit trophies.
Hein and Linda du Plessis from Debtsafe, main sponsors of the Limpopo Schools MTB cycling series reportedly described the race as one of the most exciting events on the Limpopo school cycling calendar.
The national challenge is set to be held from 2 to 4 October at Hoërskool Bekker in Magaliesburg.
