PEPPS College successfully hosted its annual Winter Sport Festival on Saturday when their learners engaged in various sporting codes against Mitchell House (MH), Stanford Lake College (SLC), Southern Cross School, Eagle’s Nest Christian School and Ridgeway College.
Activities on the day included soccer, netball, hockey, chess and debating. The top finishers in each category received certificates and individual best performers were also acknowledged. Tanishe Kutjina from Ridgeway College was named Chess Player of the Day while Alicia Mmethi of Eagle’s Nest, Tshegofatso Ledwaba and Gift Ogwu of PEPPS were named Best Speakers after finishing the debating contest with a 70% mark each.
Nadine Hillary, Personal assistant to PEPPS’ Executive Head highlighted that the festival strives to promote sportsmanship and camaraderie between schools while allowing the learners to showcase talent in activities on the programme. The fixtures started in the early morning and concluded in the afternoon with a prize giving ceremony.
