Zanis gymnasts collect medals

Fifty-one members of Zanis Gymnastics Academy successfully competed in the South African Gymnastics Federation (SAGF) Rhythmic Novice North Competition held on recently in Centurion.
Zanis was one of 26 clubs from across the northern region of South Africa that contested in the event which a total of 367 gymnasts had entered. Zanis Gymnastics Academy received full honours by claiming the most team trophies and the most top gymnasts of all clubs present.
A whopping 35 gold and16 silver medals were won. Zanis level one gymnasts Lepsy Chuene (u.7), Kristi de Jager (u.8), Rebotile Letshedi (u.9) and Malebo Kwena (u.10) each won a Top Gymnast Award while se same honour was bestowed on level two and three gymnasts Klara Pretorius (u.8), Clarissa Combrink (u.9), Sarah Diederichs (over 11), Melchizedek Maponya (u.8) and Rotondwa Maudu (u.9). Team trophies were won in the level 1 age categories u.7, u.9 and u.11; level two categories u.9 and over 11 and the level three category u.9.

Level two rhythmic gymnasts from Zanis are, in front, Ofilwe Hlabyago, Michaela Jacobs, Klara Pretorius, Clarissa Combrink, Sunel Bothma and Mushidzi Malumedzha. In the middle are Caitlin Smith, Katlego Chuene, Neo Mogoshoa, Annika de Lange, Sarah Diederichs, Thandulwazi Mashigo and Ulime Madike. At the back are coach Lesley Bonne, judge Mariette Coetzee, judge and co-owner Annemarie du Plessis, head coach and co-owner Zani Prinsloo and coach Elmien du Plessis.
