Water shortages possible Wednesday, Thursday

The bulk water line from the Olifantstpoort plant to Polokwane will be shut off from Wednesday (tomorrow) for about 24 hours due to work being undertaken by the contractor diverting the pipeline at the N1-bypass. “The shut-off will negatively affect most areas in the city and Seshego, including high catchment areas. The Krugersburg reservoir will not be supplied with bulk water for 24 hours since the concrete supporting the pipeline should first settle before water can be pumped into the reservoir,” Matshidiso Mothapo, acting Communications and Marketing Manager of Polokwane Municipality confirmed and added that the city will only be receiving water from the Ebenezer plant while water supply will be augmented from boreholes.
