A 17-year-old boy was expected to appear in the Motetema Magistrate’s Court earlier today (Wednesday) after he was apprehended for the alleged killing of his 15-year-old girlfriend whose body was found at Tafelkop outside Groblersdal earlier.
Provincial Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe said as part of the Police’s efforts to confront the scourge of crimes directed at women and children in the province, the suspect was nabbed soon after the discovery of the body this morning. A passer-by found the deceased with multiple injuries all over her body and immediately informed the Police who reacted swiftly and followed up information that led to the arrest of the teenager.
Both teens attend Buleu High School in Motetema.
While the motive for the alleged murder are not clear yet Police are following up on claims that the suspect was forcing the deceased to terminate a pregnancy.
