Talks between low-cost airline Velvet Sky and Polokwane International Airport (PIA) about the airline’s decision to pull out of the airport only a few months after commencing operations have been postponed.
PIA Spokesperson, Ms Shonisani Lukoto said the meeting between the parties that was scheduled for Tuesday was postponed by the airline a day before on Monday.
“They said they will communicate the new date soon,” Lukoto said.
The airline recently packed its bags and vacated the airport’s premises without notifying the airport management and PIA Chief Executive Officer Thulani Zulu said he was also not informed of the decision.
The airline was brought on board a few months after Zulu was appointed and both hail from KwaZulu- Natal province.
