I recently became a victim of crime when my handbag was stolen in Tzaneng Mall while busy with a fundraiser to collect food and blankets for several organisations that I’ll be visiting during the Miss Limpopo Roadshow from 7 to 9 July.Although the loss of my cell phones is very inconvenient, I must praise the SAPS in Tzaneen who immediately sent six Police officers to attend to the matter.
When the thief used my MIXIT late Saturday night, calls from friends came in and the thief started to negotiate to return the bag. With the assistance of the SAPS and Mr Johan Swanepoel from Letaba Security, they went to Maake Plaza to collect the bag but in the end the thief was just playing a game with them. He told me that he was not afraid to go to jail because he had been in jail more than 15 times already. The police are still on the lookout for him because he can be connected to many other cases. He (the thief) further said he knows there are no surveillance cameras in Tzaneng Mall. The management of the centre commented that the mall is just too big for surveillance cameras, but surely they will discourage thieves and is a very effective way to identify criminals.
The police are trying to trace the phones with the help of my service provider where after I will do a sim card swap. I request all my contacts to kindly give me a call so that I can save their details.
