The beautiful Prisca Mhlongo was crowned the proud winner of this year’s Matric Fair competition during the finals held on Saturday afternoon in Savannah Mall.
Local designer Erika Mengouchi, the creative force behind the past three year’s winning prom matric dresses will make sure Mhlongo turns heads at her matric farewell in September. One of the Mhlongo’s prizes is a
matric farewell gown from Mengouchi Haute Couture.Mhlongo, a talented Capricorn High School learner, is nothing but thrilled about the experience of being crowned the winner. "I entered the competition for the fun of it and I got so much more out of it. Working with Mengouchi and fashion expert Ms Annelize Ziehl-Owens was an eye opening experience.I look at fashion in a whole different way now and have grown the confidence to wear outfits with poise. Mengouchi, in my experience is a true creative mind with a unique touch as is Ziehl-Owens who helped me to explore fashion and face my fears regarding certain trends," Mhlongo explains.
Her prizes also include Swarovski Crystal Jewellery from Jenni Collections, beauty treatment (hair, make-up, nails and tanning) from Salon Deo Volente, colour and style consultations and personal shopping from Glamour for All, photos from Impact Photography and workshops from Superior Models.
Fusion Boutique Hotel is sponsoring a decorated room for dressing in, dinner for two at Saskia’s Fine Dining Restaurant and vouchers for photo shoots. Modern Autohaus sponsors a luxury vehicle for the matric farewell night.
