Polokwane Sector Police hands on


Rapid response has earned the Polokwane Sector Police more than 100 arrests the past week. In Bendor, Acasia Estate, a 36-year-old suspect was arrested while busy breaking in to a house. According to information, members of the community alerted the Police about the incident. Sector policing members rushed to the scene and arrested the suspected burglar. While conducting other visible policing operations the Police managed to arrest another 102 suspects for crimes including murder, rape, assault, possession of stolen property, house breaking, robbery and theft. Among the confiscated items were 138 counterfeit DVDs, T-shirts and 107 litres of illegal liquor. 43 Suspects were also issued with fines for partitioning prostitution, contravening the Road Traffic Act and drinking alcohol in public. "We will continue to serve the community with pride. Members of the community are requested to report any criminal activities at their nearest police station," Capt Mohlaka Mashiane, Polokwane Police Spokesperson said.
