Employees of Absa in Limpopo recognise choral singing as a powerful tool for involving all employees nationally for teambuilding and the development of a corporate sense of togetherness.

The Limpopo A Mapatata choir will perform two songs at the sixth annual Choir Festival to be held at Vodadome in Midrand on 24 August.  They will perform the Absa song, prescribed for all choirs, and their own choice, a medley of songs including Ska-Rumba.  No auditions are held and the only qualification required to join the choir is a love for music and the commitment to practice after business hours.

The 2010 theme for the Choir Festival is "Celebrate as One". The Limpopo A Mapatata choir qualified as one of ten provincial choirs to compete at the event. This festival gives employees from various business units and sectors an opportunity to interact with each other.  The final event will be broadcast to all Absa outlets on the Absa Internal Channel, giving all employees the opportunity to be part of the event and to vote for their favourite choir.
