Limpopo Provincial Government through the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture in conjunction with the South Africa Sports Association for the Intellectually Impaired (Sasa-II) and the International Sport Federation for people with Intellectual Disabilities (Inas-Fid) officially launched the 2010 Inas-Fid 5th Football World Championships on 4 June 2010.
The championships will be hosted by the Provincial Government from 21 August to 12 September 2010. Matches will be played in Capricorn and Mopani Districts and the host towns will be Polokwane, Seshego, Tzaneen, NkowaNkowa and Giyani.
Limpopo will see the participation of 16 countries from around the world; South Africa, Germany, Hungary, Saudi Arabia, Poland, Egypt, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Turkey, South Korea, Portugal, Nigeria, The Netherlands and France. The Inas-Fid Global Games is a multi-sport World Championship event for athletes with intellectual disability.
