South African Football Association (SAFA) Capricorn Region in partnership with Build IT Polokwane will host a one day u.13 Soccer tournament at Seshego Stadium on Saturday. The event will see primary schools and football clubs from Polokwane Cluster battling for the number one spot on the day.
The participating schools will be Greenside Primary School, Millennium Combined, Goodhope Primary, Boiketlo Primary School, Mponegele Primary School, Samuel Thema and Ernest Matlou Primary School. Clubs that will participate in the tournament are Nirvana United, Sparks Football Club, LSSE Football Club, Peace United Football Club, Nubia Kings Football Club, Molemole Academy Football Club, Galaxy Football Club and Extension 71 Football Club.
Feroze Kalla, Owner of Build IT Polokwane and sponsor of the tournament said they are happy to be part of the inaugural tourney. “We are looking forward to a day filled with fun and soccer entertainment. The reason why we decided to sponsor the tourney is because we want to support grassroots soccer. Many parents of the young players from the participating schools and clubs are our clients and by sponsoring the tourney we thank them for their support,” Kalla explained. He also urged other members of the community to come in numbers to the stadium and support the tournament.
Abel Rakoma, President of the South African Football Association Capricorn Region thanked the sponsor and emphasised that it will it will play a huge role in the youth development in the Region. “It is through platforms like these where young ones are able to showcase their talent. We are excited to have such a generous sponsor and we are looking forward to the tournament,” he said.
The winning school and club will each walk away with a floating trophy, soccer kit, kit bag and balls courtesy of the sponsor.
