Shots take aim at pins during provincial championships


Shots from across the province gathered at the local pin shooting range just outside Polo­kwane to participate in the Limpopo Provincial Championships on the weekend.
The event was hosted by local club Pins Extreme and 88 competitors young and old participated with various calibres of pistols and revolvers over three days.
Local shots were joined by others from as far as Letaba, Loskop and Gauteng. They competed over five divisions and a combined scored determined the winners.
Gerrit Boersma from Limpopo was announced overall winner with Franco Rossouw earning himself an overall third position.
The first overall positions in the women’s category were taken by Limpopo participants Janke Nieuwoudt, Marita Botha and Alwiné Fleischmann.
