Pins Extreme Polokwane held their second pin shooting league of the year last Saturday during which Dion du Bruyn won the nine pin tipover open and senior classes while Jan Olwagen came second in the veteran class and in the five pin stock gun veteran class he finished in first place.
Magdalena Jannasch came first in the five pin stock gun women’s class. The youngsters were not left out and Helgard Muller came second in the junior nine pin tipover and five pin stock gun, took first place in the pee-wee five pin stock gun and first place in the eight pin stock revolver junior class. Ethan Swart was another young contender who came first in the pee wee nine pin tip over, third in the open class and first in the pee-wee class of the rim fire handgun (.22) category.
Pin shooting is a sport for all ages and shots are taken with various types of firearms at used ten pin bowling skittles that are positioned on a table at a distance of 7,6 metres.
Tinus Botha from Pins Extreme Polokwane explained that there are various categories. In the tip over category the winner is the contestant who tips over the most targets within 40 seconds, using an unlimited number of rounds. In the five pin full table category, the targets have to be shot off the table.
Competitors also participated in different classes namely veterans, seniors, open, women, juniors and pee-wees.
Botha further said the day was an enormous success and everyone enjoyed the opportunity to test their shooting skills.
