Pin Extreme Polokwane hosted its monthly league competition at the Polokwane range on Saturday. The event was in preparation of the national event that is scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday.
Dion du Bruyn was the winner in the 9-Pin Tip Over, while Dewald Prinsloo took the honours in the 5-Pin Stock Gun category. Franco Rossouw, Basie van Niekerk and Susan Jannasch were the winners in the 8-Pin Stock Revolver, Semi-automatic Shotgun and Pump Action Shotgun categories respectively. Pieter Wentzel was the winner in the .22 Pistol and .22 Semi-Automatic categories, with Greg Foster, Susan Jannasch and Riaz Latib first in the .22 Slot Action, Pocket Pistol and Snubby Revolver categories respectively.
Spokesperson for Pin Extreme Polokwane, Marita Botha said that this weekend’s competition is the final selection process for the team that will represent South Africa in Sweden during August next year.
“There is an overwhelming interest from international participants and we expect visitors from Norway, Sweden, Germany, Denmark and France to participate in the competition. I am confident that they will not be disappointed by the high standards of our ranges,” she said.
Pin shooting is a sport for all ages and shots are taken at used ten pin bowling skittles that are positioned on a table at a distance of 7,6 metres.
