Peel layers away to new you

A feeling of excitement and promise hung in the air at Aesthetico Medical Aesthetic Clinic on Monday and Tuesday when the clinic introduced clients and prospective clients to a world class medical chemical peel product that is now available on our doorstep.
Mrs South Africa finalist, Shoni Mulaudzi, was also there to share her experiences. As a patient of the practice, she has undergone the procedure herself and raved about the results to date.
Aesthetico is owned by medical practitioner Anton Mathey, somatologist Solene Wolhüter and practice manager Letichia van Schalkwyk. They fuse the art of beauty and the science of medicine to offer a comprehensive series of non-invasive, non-surgical and holistic treatments for the body and face.
Because the Obagi Chemical Peel is graded for use by a trained and certified medical practitioner only, Aesthetico is the only beauty clinic that offers this product in the whole of Limpopo.
Van Schalkwyk welcomed clients with a cool drink or cappuccino and delicious snacks before she explained the process. Then she introduced Obagi specialist representative, Carien Wessels, who performed the procedure with the help of Wolhüter.
Wessels explained that there is a world of difference between a cosmeceutical chemical peel and a medical peel. The medical product, like Obagi, will yield faster and more dramatic results than its cosmeceutical counterpart, because it contains more active ingredients.
A medical product also has to undergo a comprehensive series of clinical trials over years before it can be placed onto the market.
The actual procedure is calming and pleasant, although the product does sting a little bit when applied to the face. Aesthetico minimises this discomfort by using self neutralising peels that only burns for a short period and that allows for the depth of the peel to be monitored and controlled.
Clients who opt for this incredible treatment that leaves your skin radiant, will experience flaking and peeling from around the fourth day after the peel. This will last approximately two days. After the dead skin cells flaked off, a new younger and rejuvenated skin will be revealed.
For more information about Obagi medical products or other aesthetic treatments, call Aesthetico on 015 291 2404 or visit them at 50B Compensatie Street.
