Panarottis Mall of the North on Saturday joined forces with learners from Hoër Tegniese Skool Tom Naudé and Curro Heuwelkruin to sell cupcakes and raise funds for children with cancer. Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer, raises awareness about the early warning signs of childhood cancer and helps raise funds for children who are fighting this disease. Volunteers are invited to bake and sell cupcakes to help raise these funds.
Tom Naudé learners, Dioné, Johanita and Erandi Cilliers donated 500 cupcakes and the three teams in the Mr and Miss Heuwelkruin competition each donated 100 cupcakes. The Heuwelkruin teams also manned the tables from where the sweet treats were sold at R5 each. Angelique Wolmarans, owner of Panarottis Mall of the North says the 800 cupcakes were sold within an hour.
“I am so happy to be able to do this project with the young people and to help raise funds for children living with cancer. The Panarottis Mall of the North team supported this initiative and we are looking forward to doing this again,” she said, adding that she will make sure to have more cupcakes donated at the next event. “Thank you to every person who gave their time and effort to make the project a success. I also want to thank the people of Polokwane who opened their hearts and hands to help children who are fighting cancer.”
