Paediatric oncology ward improved thanks to eager volunteers

An extended and improved paediatric oncology ward at the Pietersburg Provincial Hospital was officially reopened last Thursday.
This follows after Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) employees, as part of the employee volunteerism programme, rolled up their sleeves and got to work improving the existing structure.
According to Lindiwe Zikalala, regional communications specialist for the North region, the ageing facility was in need of some renovations and extensions to ensure the patients were comfortable and treated with dignity while visiting the facility.
The project was executed in two phases during February. During the official reopening, Vhutshilo Netshituni, paediatric oncologist at the hospital, said the team was very humbled and grateful for what CCBSA had done.
