Meropa Casino & Entertainment World recently celebrated its 16th birthday with guests and personnel.
Since first opening its doors to the public Meropa has become known as a vibrant entertainment hub at the heart of Polokwane, offering an array of entertainment and experiences for young and old.
The complex features the upmarket Harvest Grill & Wine, the contemporary Jembe Tavern, which hosts regular live entertainment and a conference centre.
The casino itself boasts more than 400 slot machines and 17 tables, including classics like roulette, blackjack and poker.
As part of the celebrations the casino gave away a share of R160 000 in cash and Sun Xtra play for lucky customers during promotions on
27 March which ran from 12 midday to 21:00 in the evening.
To add to this excitement, one lucky winner, who wished to remain anonymous, had his own reason to celebrate when he walked away with a staggering R988 749 won at Duma Progressive Level 1 jackpot, on 24 March.
Peter Guthrie, General Manager of Meropa Casino & Entertainment World reportedly addressed guests and thanked them for their loyal support throughout the years.
“We are constantly upgrading our offerings in order to attract tourists to Polokwane and thus contribute toward the local economy. Meropa’s value-added services, entertainment and quality facilities ensure satisfied guests and helps us keep up with the ever-changing trends,” Guthrie was quoted saying.
A local cultural dance group, Makubenjalo Drummers entertained the quests during the celebrations with their incredible African dance moves.
