Livhuwani Junior Netshikulwe, a Grade 10 learner at Northern Academy Secondary School will join the South African u.17 soccer team (Amajimbos) for the Four Nations tournament set to take place in Swaziland on 19 and 20 January.
Livhuwani caught the eyes of the Amajimbos scouts while representing the province at the national finals of the Coca-Cola Copa tournament in Bloemfontein last year September.
He was also named the best player at the provincial Copa Coca-Cola tournament held in Tzaneen in August while representing his school.
“I am really happy to be part of the national team. It is dream come true for me and the start of greater things to come. I never thought that one day I will represent my country at this age, this says to me I must continue working hard. I want to thank my mother, Thupi Mudau for allowing me to leave home at an early age in order to embark on a football journey. I said this in an interview last year and I am going say it again. I was nine years old when I left Musina for Polokwane to play soccer and she gave me her blessing. I dedicate this call-up to her,” Livhuwani said.
