Local fine and visual artists associated with Limpopo Arts and Culture Association (Laca) have been exhibiting their work at Savannah Mall since Monday. The occasion was the second Annual Youth Art Blast which was established by Laca and is supported by Savannah Mall. The works can be seen in the Banking Mall until Sunday.
Lethabo Ramokgopha, Marketing Manager of the association said the exhibition was created in order to celebrate and commemorate Youth Month while also giving the wonderful art and crafts of local artists some exposure.
“During the week there will be five artists exhibiting. The objective is to instil the spirit of ‘artrepreneurs’ which are artists in business.
With the exhibition we want to fight unemployment, because most of the artists who are exhibiting their work are not employed elsewhere but rely on their art for a living.
The pieces for sale and prices range from R500 upwards,” Ramokgopha said.
