Inwoners voeg ‘n bietjie glans by vir Tekkie Tax-dag

Vir inwoners van Polokwane was Tekkie Tax-dag Vrydag die kans om formele skoene vir tekkies te verruil vir liefdadigheid. Om tekkies te dra moes inwoners R10 vir ‘n plakker betaal om hulle gunsteling liefdadigheidsorganisasie te ondersteun. Kleurvolle skoenveters sowel as T-hemde was ook beskikbaar. Die nasio­nale begunstigdes van die projek, Epilepsy SA, Child Welfare SA, SOS Children’s Villages, Choc, Special Olympics SA, Imisebeyelanga Services, Kansa, Meals on Wheels, VVA, NG Welsyn en SAVF verteenwoordig meer as 1 000 welsyns­organisasies. Polokwane Nasorgsentrum vir Volwasse Intellektueel Gestremdes het oudergewoonte talle plakkers, skoenveters en T-hemde verkoop, waarvoor die sentrummatrone, Saartjie du Toit haar dank uitgespreek het.

Residents add a little sparkle for Tekkie Tax Day

Residents of Polokwane grabbed the chance to exchange their formal shoes for tekkies on Friday, which was Tekkie Tax Day, all in the name of charity. To be able to wear their tekkies, residents had to purchase a R10 sticker to support their favourite charity. Glittering colourful shoelaces as well as T-shirts were also available. The national beneficiaries of the project, being Epilepsy SA, Child Welfare SA, SOS Children’s Villages, Choc, Special Olympics SA, Imisebeyelanga Services, Cansa, Meals on Wheels, VVA, NG Welsyn and SAVF, represent more than 1 000 welfare organisations. Polokwane Nasorgsentrum vir Volwasse Intellektueel Gestremdes who are among the beneficiaries, did a roaring trade in stickers, shoelaces and T-shirts for which centre matron, Saartjie du Toit thanked everyone.
