Although Goldwagen Noordelikes failed to use the home ground to their advantage as the team lost all the three friendly matches played against Northam Rugby Club on Saturday, coach Fred Romijn remains confident that the team would get into shape before the start of the Boet Fick Rugby League which is expected to commence in May.
Romijn could not provide the scores of all the three matches but indicated that Northam was a strong team and they were hoping to match their standard before the start of the league. He further indicated that they have identified the mistakes and would rectify them during the training sessions.
“The matches we play now are just for practice and they help us to see our weak points. Our players did exceptionally well and I am happy with the way they played,” Romijn explained, adding that they will be playing against Letaba Rugby Club in Tzaneen on Saturday.
