Fuel station bombing suspect identified

Police have identified one of the suspects allegedly involved in the recent series of robberies and bombings of drop-safes at fuel stations in and around Polokwane. Provincial Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe said after the spate of robberies a task team was established to investigate all incidents and has already identified one of the suspects reportedly involved.
Boitumelo Daniel Aphane is allegedly part of syndicate and believed to be hiding in places such as Pretoria and Mamelodi as well as Siyabuswa in Mpumalanga. He was previously arrested in connection with a cash-in-transit robbery in Mokopane and appeared before the local magistrate’s court but absconded where after a warrant of arrest was issued, according to Ngoepe.
Aphane is also linked to cash-in-transit robberies in Mankweng, Seshego and Polokwane as well as recent robberies at fuel stations in the city, Tzaneen and Nobody outside Mankweng.
He is apparently part of a group of armed suspects using a BMW and Toyota Corolla targeting fuel stations by blowing up drop-safes and robbing money from cash registers.
Anyone with information can contact investigating officer Richard Boshomane on 079 894 5501 or report to the nearest Police station.
