Four local tennis players off to nationals


Four members of the Polokwane Tennis Club are gearing up for the Growthpoint Topguns National Club Championships to be hosted in Sun City on the weekend.
Simba Mhandu, Takalani Molaoa, Allison Hernandez and Dennis Marokane will represent Limpopo at the event and aim to bring back a gold medal.
Polokwane Tennis Club Chairperson Yasin Rhemtula expects the championships to be tough but anticipates good results. “They will be playing against the best of the country and it would not be easy games. Most importantly is for them to have fun while doing their best and the results will follow,” Rhemtula said.
A total of 16 clubs from across the country will participate with prize money as much as R30 000 for the winner and the club.
