A contingent of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) supporters marched from the SABC park to Polokwane Municipality’s offices in the Civic Centre on Friday to hand over a petition demanding intervention regarding RDP housing waiting lists, electricity and water billing problems and alleged nepotism in appointments at the Polokwane Fire Station.
The march was supposed to start at 10:00 but only departed at 12:30, arriving at the Civic Centre at 13:40 when the petition was handed over to Member of the Mayoral Committee for Roads, Transport and Stormwater, Francina Kubyana and Manager in the Office of the Mayor, Isaac Choshi.
EFF Provincial Chairperson Jossey Buthane explained that the march was delayed due to other commitments on his side.
Municipal Spokesperson Thipa Selala could not be reached for comment regarding the approach to the matter at time of going to print.
