Isaac Setsiba from Makgofe just outside Polokwane proudly took ownership of a brand new Toyota Corolla Quest he won by entering the 2015 Toyota Amabeadibeadi Win-a-Car Competition hosted in collaboration with the recent 90th Comrades Marathon.
The keys of the Corolla ware handed to Setsiba by the Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) Chairperson Macdonald Chitja recently.
“I am a keen participant in SMS competitions or any other competition advertised on television. A long time ago I once won a small television set but is the first time I get such a big surprise,” Setsiba said.
Setsiba entered the competition early on the day of the Comrades.
“At around 16:30 someone called me and asked for details and said I must keep watching at 17:30 to confirm my winning. When they read out my name on television I almost fainted but instead got up and screamed,” Setsiba said, adding that his wife will now take ownership of his current sedan while he will take hold of the keys of the Corolla.
The lucky draw takes place annually on Comrades race day with a Toyota Corolla up for grabs.
“Almost 532 000 SMSs were received by viewers, runners and supporters and Setsiba entered 14 times. The competition raised nearly R400 000 for the CMA’s Amabeadibeadi charity drive,” Chitja said. He thanked Toyota South Africa for their annual support.
