Community members show solidarity for cancer patients

Residents of Polokwane and surrounds showed their solidarity with cancer patients by participating in a Cansa Shavathon event organised by Cansa Polokwane and RealNet Properties Polokwane on Saturday.
Christopher Combrink, community mobiliser, events and funds developer of the association said the event was a build-up to their main events which will be held from 2 to 8 March at various shopping centres, organisations and workplaces around Polokwane.
“We are calling on everyone to bring their loved ones along and show support for the cause. The options are endless as they can shave or spray their hair during the days. The cost for adults is R50 and for children under 12 R25 to participate.
“Funds received will go towards CANSA Polokwane care to support programmes for patients, caregivers and loved ones. We would love for more people to cut the hair because we want to donate human hair to make wigs for cancer patients experiencing hair loss,” Combrink said.
