City of Stars recognises outstanding service

Lesser recognised contributors to the positive image of the city and the services that it offers, were acknowledged at Polokwane Municipality and Polokwane Tourism Association’s (PTA) City of Stars Awards function at the new Peter Mokaba Stadium last Thursday evening.
The aim of the competition was to identify individuals and businesses that walked the extra mile in order to render service that goes beyond the usual and awards were made in 14 different categories where services that are rendered to visitors in particular, but also to residents, were targeted. Tables were named after tourism attractions in the city and adequate time was afforded for finalists and guests to mingle and share stories about their interactions with demanding as well as appreciative clients that they face on a daily basis.
Polokwane Executive Mayor, Thembi Nkadimeng congratulated the winners and said that they are valued ambassadors of the City of Stars and that their role in promoting the “I am Polokwane’ campaign is appreciated.
The winners of the awards are featured on the back page of this publication.
