The parking area of Choppies Polokwane on Saturday was transformed into an outdoor theatre where customers could enjoy live music and give-aways when the store officially handed over a brand new Datsun Go to the winner of their Christmas Bonanza competition.
An enthusiastic audience gathered to witness the hand-over and to enjoy the entertainment that included a Coca-Cola spin-the-wheel and singing competitions. Choppies employees also did their part to help customers enjoy the festivities and product sponsors gave away gifts to add to the spirit of generosity.
Obed Mamaila won the car after entering the competition that ran from 21 October 2016 to 7 January.
Customers had to fill in the entry form attached to their till slips during this time and put it in the specially marked draw box. The draw took place under strict scrutiny at Choppies headquarters last Wednesday.
Winners of participating stores were informed of their fortune and had to pick up their prizes on Saturday.
Mamaila said he was overjoyed but also overwhelmed to hear that he won the car. “I have a valid license and cannot wait to drive away in my new car,” he said, thanking the crowd of people who swarmed to congratulate him.
Choppies Polokwane Store Manager Ronald Tharaga said it was a pleasure to be able to hand over a new vehicle to a customer, knowing that Choppies celebrated and rewarded loyalty.
