Rhythm and Blues crooner Brian Temba delighted fans on Saturday when he brought his Winter Soul Jam Movement Show to Meropa Casino and Entertainment World’s Jembe Tavern.
Temba, also known for playing the role of Ranthumeng Mokoena in the popular local soapie, Muvhango mesmerised the female dominated audience with songs like ‘Life without love’, ‘Themba Lami’ and the crowd favourite, ‘Zanele’.
“It was good to be back in Polokwane after five years. I was overwhelmed by the response from those in attendance and I am happy that the audience enjoyed my performance,” Temba said afterwards.
He said he will also be visiting other cities of the country with the show.
“We started with the movement in Johannesburg in July and the aim is to go to all the cities in the country. The main reason why I have started the movement is that soul music is not given the platform it deserves. As one of the pioneers of soul music in the country I want to revive the genre through the movement,” he explained.
Raksha Gunpath, Public Relations and Promotions Manager at Meropa Casino & Entertainment World said they were happy to host Temba who was especially popular with the female audience. Gunpath said the turnout was good and that the show had been a memorable one.
