The suspect allegedly responsible for shooting Razeen Patel four times on Sunday morning handed himself over to Police yesterday (Wednesday) and appeared in the Mankweng Regional Court earlier today (Thursday).
Provincial Police Communications Head Motlafela Mojapelo indicated that the 22-year-old suspect, Ali Salman is facing a charge of attempted murder and is expected to apply for bail next Thursday.
Salman is suspected of shooting Razeen Patel twice in the head and twice in the arm during an incident on the R71 outside Mankweng early on Sunday morning. Razeen was expected to testify against his brother and double murder accused Rameez Patel on Monday morning.
Rameez is standing trial in the murder case of his wife Fatima in April 2015. He is also expected back in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court in connection with the killing of his mother Mahjebeen in September last year.
