A heavy rain storm caused havoc in the city yesterday (Saturday) at noon, severely affecting Savannah Mall for the second time over the first two weeks of the new year.
Some trees were also unearthed but not as much as during the previous storm that hit the city on 2 January, when the mall was also flooded. Water supply to the city was also affected and by this morning (Sunday), most residents were affected by low pressure and water shortages.
At Savannah Mall workers were still in the process of repairing last week’s damage when the second storm struck. Some businesses have not opened for business this morning.
Attempts to source comment from Polokwane Municipality and Savannah Mall management were unsuccessful.
