Rameez Patel is to appear in the Limpopo High Court next month and in May next year in connection with the alleged killing of his wife Fatima and mother Mahejeen respectively.

Both cases against Rameez Patel to continue in High Court

Rameez Patel who is expected to stand trial in the Limpopo High Court from 19 November for the alleged killing of his wife, Fatima, will appear in the same court on 27 May next year to face charges regarding his alleged involvement in the murder of his mother Mahejeen Badu Patel just over a year ago.
The Polokwane Magistrate’s Court last Thursday referred the murder case of Mahejeen to the Limpopo High Court.
She was allegedly shot at her home on 19 September last year and Rameez, at the time out on bail for the alleged killing of Fatima, was arrested. Earlier this year the magistrate’s court rejected his bail application and he has been in custody ever since.
The murder trial stemming from Fatima’s death on 10 April 2015 is set to start in the high court next month.
Patel’s brother Razeen is reportedly still abroad and will remain there until he is called to testify.
Razeen was allegedly shot four times by Ali Salman just outside Mankweng in July. Salman handed himself over to Police within days after the incident and was granted bail of R5 000 by the Mankweng Regional Court. He is also expected back in court next month.
Meanwhile, no arrests were made yet in the latest turn of events when Patel’s father in law, Yunus Mayet was reportedly kidnapped from his house in Ster Park and shot execution style early last month.
