The SANBS Limpopo and Northern Zone peer promoters, or blood buddies as they are often fondly referred to gathered at a venue just outside Polokwane recently where the Top 10 schools in terms of blood donation last year were awarded.
The top school emerged as Tshiawelo Secondary School in Vleifontein, Elim with an astounding 787 units of blood having been collected last year. In second place was Hoërskool Pietersburg (PHS) with 446 units and third place was occupied by Hoër Tegniese Skool Tom Naudé with 356 units.
Donor recruiter Keith Zwane said they were extremely impressed with all of the peer promoters in the Northern Zone.
