Polokwane City Football Club has sent well wishes to several of their former players who departed for various reasons over the past few weeks.
These players include Raymond Monama and Benson Mohlongo, both who joined last year from University of Pretoria and Platinum Stars respectively. “We did not renew Monama’s contract because he was deemed surplus to requirements by the technical team. As for Mohlongo, he asked to be released from his contract. He was left with only a year and we decided to grant him his wish,” Tincy Tema, Chief Operations Officer of the club said.
Tema also informed that former Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs striker Katlego Mphela is training with the club with the hope of securing a move to the team. “He started training with us on Monday. We are waiting for the technical team to give us feedback on whether they will sign him or not. After their own assessment we will then make announcements,” Tema said.
The team’s General Manager, Costa Bellos, who joined them last year, resigned citing personal and family responsibility as core reasons for his resignation. “They served us well and we thank them for the contribution they made during their tenure,” Tema said.
