Baroka Football Club owner, Khurishi Mphahlele has promised soccer fans in the province that his team will stay at the top of National First Division (NFD) till the end of the season and gain automatic promotion to the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
Mphahlele was speaking after his team’s 1-0 victory over Milano United at Athlone Stadium in Cape Town which saw them reclaiming the top spot which they lost to Cape Town All Stars two weeks ago.
“Our goal is to go to the PSL and we can’t afford to slip up now. The boys know what is expected from them and we are happy with the commitment they have shown since the beginning of the season and we believe we can go all the way,” Mphahlele said.
Thabiso Kutumela who is leading goal scorer in the division scored the winning goal in the second half of the match to give his team a much needed victory.
Thier next match will be against Cape Town All Stars at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium on 21 November. “It is a crucial match for us which we must win to keep the number one spot and I don’t see anything stopping us,” added Mphahlele.
