Model aircraft enthusiasts from as far as Gauteng gathered for the Area 51 RC Flyers’ annual Fly-in that was hosted at the club’s airfield at Dalmada on Saturday.
With over 40 planes on display and many in action, visitors could feast their eyes on a variety of self-built and custom built models. Proud owners were on hand to offer information and to share their flying experience with flyers-to-be.
Pieter Bornman, Chairperson of the club, said that the event was a great success.
“Model aircraft flying is a safe and affordable sport that can provide hours of safe and enjoyable recreation for young and old. We appeal to the public to attend one of our events and if not taking part, just to enjoy a day in the open,” Bornman said.
