Skoon lakens en ander treurmares

Ek is vanoggend tegelyk dankbaar en ongelukkig.  Op my wasgoeddraad wapper skoon la-kens, handdoeke en lappies van alle soorte. My dakwaaiers is skoongeskrop (sal seker nooit weer sag waai nie!), my toilette is gestaalwol (weet nie of daar nog enamel op is nie), blikke, botteltjies en potrette is gestof, gewas en gelug (hoop maar die helfte besluit nie om te roes nie). Jy kan met ‘n wit handskoen bo-op my deurkosyne inspeksie doen. Ek is van die nuutgeverfde voorhekkie tot by die binnekant van die asblik-deksel gereed vir inspeksie!

City's own Messi off to Norway

Leonado Afonso, a Grade 7 learner from Pietersburg English Medium Primary School (Pemps), will be jet-ting off to Norway today (Thursday) to participate in the Norway u.13 Cup. Together with other 18 players from Royal Bafokeng Academy, he will have the opportunity to exchange soccer skills with fellow players from other countries during the tournament that will run from 1 to 7 August.

Die Limpopo rugbyfinale het Saterdag by die Hoërskool Pietersburg (PHS) se velde plaasgevind en is deur die Limpopo Blou Rugby Unie se skole-afdeling aangebied.  Alhoewel PHS drie spanne in die finale gehad het, het hulle die wedstryde verloor ondanks puik spel.

Kruinies mik na groen status

Heuwelkruin Kollege se vakansieklub, Klub Weg, het onlangs ‘n nuwe en opwindende inisiatief aangepak wat poog om dié spogskool groen status te laat verkry. Drie leerders en hul projekleier, mnr Manie Raath, fokus op herwinning op die kollegeterrein. Verskillende houers is aangebring vir verskillende soorte rommel as deel van die groen-projek. Millions of litres of water literally went down the drain when contractors working on the African National Congress provincial office in Biccard Street apparently tampered with water pipes on Friday. Water gushed from a burst pipe for almost the entire day and flooded nearby business premises before the municipality finally managed to stop it.

Police in Mankweng have arrested 177 University of Limpopo Turfloop Campus students for public violence and malicious damage to property estimated to be in the region of R1 million. Furthermore the university has decided to suspend the entire Progressive Youth Movement-led Student Representative Council (SRC) structure indefinitely pending internal investigation on the matter.

SACC and Judasa to march for state of public health system

The South African Council of Churches (SACC) in Limpopo in partnership with the Junior Doctors of South Africa (Judasa) will submit a memorandum of demands and an inventory on the appalling state of the public health system to the MEC of Health and Social Development.  The submission of the memorandum will be preceded by a mass prayer walk to the department’s head office and that of the Premier on 12 August.
