Subtle bombarding of senses at Limpopo Wine Show

Yolande Nel

The latest vintages were among old favourites ensuring a subtle bombarding of the senses when the Limpopo Wine Show came to town last weekend.

Being the fourth show of its kind on Limpopo soil, the three-day event delivered some 230 fruits of the industry to the doorsteps of local connoisseurs. For this purpose the most prominent names from South Africa’s wine lands came together for a great show-off. From late Friday afternoon exhibitors paraded their full reds and crisp whites, their sparkling wines and, of course, the most appealing olives.

Limpopo Speaker a true role model

Mpho Dube

Only the sky is the boundary and you can make it from grey to elegant. There is no better proof of this than Kgolane Phala, Speaker of the Limpopo Legislature. Hailing from Manganeng Village in Sekhukhune, he is a true example of someone who contributed unconditionally within the political arena to combat the apartheid regime despite his rural background.

His contribution of emancipating many South Africans from mental slavery earned him a place as one of the most respected politicians in South Africa.

Bubbly and delicacies paired for a memorable night at the opera

There is something terribly sexy about a French accent. Add to that champagne infusions from the country that is home to Paris, fashion streaks and love affairs and one is unexpectedly charmed on an evening spent in a befitting gathering place.

Eben Engelbrecht

Noordelikes maak skoonskip teen Dorp

Warren Blunt

Winnerspark to emulate fellow contenders

Herbert Rachuene

All roads will lead to the University of Limpopo’s Oscar Mpetha stadium on Sunday, when Winnerspark and Mpumalanga Aces battle it out for a place in the quarter finals of the Nedbank Cup.

With teams like FC Cape Town and University of Pretoria campaigning in the National First Division, already in the quarter finals of the Ke yona Cup, it remains to be seen if Winnerspark will live up to expectations.

Winnerspark Football Manager Trevor Lekalakala said the last 16 game against Aces is a must win.
