Were I a criminal, I probably could have made Limpopo my playground. Judging from large scale references by a contingent of officers in blue and brown from across the province, who attested to practical examples of corruption and general slackness within law enforcement structures during a meeting with the Premier and his leadership on Friday, Limpopo could be an easy target for elements wanting to wage criminal warfare.

MEC for Health and Social Development, Ms Meriam Segabutla has received a knock-out punch from political parties calling for her to be axed.
The call for Segabutla’s dismissal from office comes promptly after the Democratic Alliance’s (DA) Jacques Smalle, leader in Limpopo Legislature revealed that Limpopo has a vacancy rate of over 60% for medical doctors in public hospitals.

Much mystery surrounds the meteorite which rocketed across the Limpopo skies on Saturday evening.
This much talked about galactic spectacle took place just after 23:00. No one knows who spotted it first, but the first confirmed sighting was south of Klerksdorp in North-West.
It streaked across the sky in a shallow southeast to northwest curve. Sightings were reported from all over Southern Africa, including Gauteng, Mpumalanga, North-West, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Botswana.

The revaluation of the estimated 60 000 properties in Polokwane is ahead of schedule and should be completed by the end of March. Chief evaluator, Mr Eli Ströh, told the Polokwane Observer that the process is going surprisingly smooth. "Whereas we were expecting some public resistance, exactly the opposite is happening. Residents and business owners are giving us their full support and we have not had a single complaint," Ströh said.
